Entrance Light
I had a super fun day at Waddesdon Manor in my role as Volunteer House Host. I love being in the thick of action at the Main Door where we check tickets and greet our visitors. It's always busy with a steady flow of people thanks to our timed entry ticket system. We are, of course, flexible if people arrive early or late for their entry slot - it only really matters at absolute peak times when we are 'sold out' and the House is at capacity.
Today was Father's Day with Gin & Whisky tasting sessions on plus a special Father's Day afternoon tea. Lots of families visiting which was great.
There are always two volunteers on the Main Door Meet & Greet and it's quite hard work taking the two of us to get people through swiftly and efficiently. There is the occasional lull when we have a chat which makes it all the more fun.
John is now returned from his walking trip to Skye, and he seems to have had a wonderful time with reasonable weather. Pepper was beside herself with joy when he arrived home. I was pleased too but didn't have the Zoomies!
This light is in the entrance hall to the House but rarely noticed by visitors.
