There's lots of Irish Bog Cotton on the pastureland down by the river, it just grows on peaty, boggy ground apparently, that's why we don't have any growing at home.  
It was once used to stuff mattresses and pillows.
I love the texture and form of it and it's looks lovely swaying in the wind.
