Rescued Tree Bumblebee

This female tree bumblebee had been still on the edge of the stone wall for a while, so I thought I’d try her with some sugar solution and she quickly started to suck it up.  I need to go and check to find out if she’s moved on.  Hopefully she will have.  There’s several cuckoo bees roaming very slowly across the tops of the alliums at the moment, they clearly haven’t anywhere to go in a hurry.

Some tidying and sorting this morning and I finally got around to making a start on digging my new flower bed - I’m not sure I’ve got the shape of this one right, but all is not lost yet.
