Mary, Mary

Margaret and I had a lovely day in London. We got the train to Kings Cross then taxi to the V and A where we had tickets for the Mary Quant exhibition. As we were a little early, we sat out in the museum garden and had a coffee in the sunshine first and had a good look round the various museum gift shops. The exhibition was good, particularly the later clothes which were much more fun and colourful. Actually, I think we enjoyed the fashion exhibition which was in the corridor outside the Mary Quant exhibition more. There were clothes there dating back from the 1700’s, some beautiful costumes from Victorian times, 1920’s and 1950’s. It was amazing to think that they have survived so long and are still in such amazing condition.

After a very nice lunch in Knightsbridge, we had a wander round Harrods, looking at all the fabulous things we would like but can’t afford.
Back home on the train and D and poppy met us at Royston and brought us home.
We’re now enjoying a large G&T while D cooks dinner.
