Quod oculus meus videt

It's fairly typical of photographic companies to sell expensive accessories to use with their equipment.  Whether it be a motor drive at £300+, while Chines copies retail for less than £50, or similar, it tends to leave you thinking that you're being taken for a ride.

I wanted to get closer to some of my subjects with the Lensbaby I've got.  Research indicated that the company sell a couple of macro filters (which are darned difficult to get hold of in the UK) to help, along with macro converters.

I didn't fancy spending the money they were asking for just a couple of filters so looked around for an alternative.  Kood International via eBay came to the rescue, selling 4 filters of different diopter values for less than a quarter of the cost of the manufacturers.  This was a first try out with the Sweet 50 and the +4 diopter filter.  It allows you to get really close!I just love the bokeh it creates at wide aperture.  I ought to be working off a tripod, but part of the fun is to just walk around the garden, pointing the camera and experimenting.
