Re-dressing the balance
I emerged from a very long meeting at the World Bank office onto one of Maputo’s main boulevards and a dress seller who had his wares hung up in a tree. They mostly seem to be dresses aimed at domestic workers. I liked the spectacle because the dresses were swaying in the breeze and especially because they were out of sync with everything else in this neighbourhood: offices of funding agencies, embassies and a private cardiac hospital.
