Day 12 - Gdansk

Our final port of call on this wonderful cruise was Gdansk in Poland where temperatures reached 35C!!

It was here on 1st September 1939 that a German warship opened fire heralding the start of WW II

Lots of the city was destroyed but it has been restored to its former glory :-)

We walked from the Green Gate along the Dluga (Long Lane) to another historic gate called Highland Gate past Neptune’s Fountain, City Hall & St Mary’s Basilica (the world’s largest brick church).

We also had to shop along Mariacka Street where every shop sells amber jewellery ;-)

A great city to finish a great trip :-D
