Bit of a lazy morning and then headed off to Brodick Castle. Very nice place- felt quite homely even though it hadn’t been lived in since the 1950s. I always like seeing the big old kitchens ( blip)Sun came out do we looked around the walled garden. Beautifully planted , mainly in shades of white , blue and mauve. Decided to go on a walk through the grounds but the rain just started as we left and got steadily worse so we turned back, picking elderflower heads on the way. Drove to try and find a jewellery maker but the postcode must have been wrong and we ended driving over half the island. Discovered our ferry was cancelled as we were in the queue so we were put on stand by for the next one . Went and had lunch whilst waiting, but we were the first car to not get a place. Wasn’t too bad though as they put on another one and we arrived back atDs only 3 hours late! Bit of tv and a snack before bed. Lovely holiday!
