Unexpected Delights . . .

in Buffalo Wyoming.  Blipper KD recommended we go to Buffalo and we did.  It is a delightful town that has kept it's main street and enhanced it with big murals on the buildings, sculptures in the park and interesting shops.  We had a great time in Margo's Gifts.  The assistant is an ex teacher and so was a customer.  The customer taught in Denver and was on summer vacation with her family.  She didn't think she would last as a teacher to retirement age as me and the assistant had.  It was an interesting conversation.  I bought earrings and a  piece of pottery for my friend Annabel.  The lovely daughter got an early birthday present of a leather handbag.  We had lunch at the very good sandwich shop and for the first time shared pie.  Fruit pies are not something we have a choice of when eating out in New Zealand.  Making a pie as a desert is common.
Back in the car and onwards to Deadwood, South Dakota.  A stop was made at the Vore Buffalo Jump which was used from 1500 A.D to 1800 A.D  to trap buffalo in a natural sink hole.  The guide there was also a teacher working in her summer vacation.  The area was discovered when the interstate was being built in the 70's.
