Dunes
We wondered along the dunes at Marseillan-plage. I was pleased to see the shadows and shapes made by the fences and saw how necessary they are to hold the sand in place. The sun was a blaze of light on the sea, making each grain of sand sparkle, it seemed. Lo Jardinièr was pleased to find flowering plants, some of them the same as he found at Sant Pol which is a similar habitat and has the same climate. We both took a lot of photos and swapped lenses a couple of times. Then we drove along the lagoon to Marseillan ville, stopping to watch - and try to photograph - a very elegant egret in the marshes. And then we had lunch in the sun by the port, a more modest meal than the other day, just two courses and a glass of wine each, but on the terrace of one of our favourite restaurants. It was 16°C with a gentle breeze - just the kind of winter day I like! Home then for a siesta from which I woke to a beautiful pink sky and the pleasure of looking at the photos I'd taken while we were out.
