City Square, Leeds
Last night we were out in Leeds for a meal with friends. This was a blip of convenience taken just round the corner from the restaurant. It is the former Leeds General Post Office building in City Square, currently home to a restaurant.
It is a Grade II listed building, as are the two K6 cast iron phone boxes in front of it.
In the foreground is a nude female holding a lamp. This is one of eight such statues and was a controversial feature of the square which attracted critical letters to the Yorkshire Post when unveiled in 1899.
