Pétanque

Today we went for a walk to Cimiez, a part of Nice in the hilly outskirts about a 4 mile walk from Old Nice.

There's a lot to see in a small space as the park in Cimiez houses roman ruins, the Matisse Museum and the monastery and its gardens.

At the entrance to the park we found lots of the locals playing pétanque under the trees.

Judging by the gestures and shouts its a game they take very seriously.
