Coffin Road

Did the walk made famous by Peter May. Our ancestors must have been a hardy lot - not a long route - about 7 miles- but very rough. The dead were brought over by pony and cart from the east coast of Harris as the ground is too rocky for burial and laid to rest on the sandy west coast. We arrived at the cemetery as a funeral was taking place ! The extras are a Scottish barbecue cooked by two windswept Italians and God’s promise!
