Growing old disgracefully

JACK'S SEEDS

On a visit to Jervaux Abbey in 2014, I admired some unusual flowers with my friend Jack (who is a real gardener) .   He filched some seeds for me, I popped them into a tissue and forgot about them.  A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out the car and came across them, , with the now faded scribble, 'Jack's seeds, Jervaux'.   I planted them, they germinated and now are hardening off outside.  No idea what they are, but for me, they will always be 'Jack's seeds' - a memory of a very special friendship.
