Spectacular Botanical Phenomenon

We cycled to The Botanics today, taking the long route via Newhaven.  We were on a special mission to see one of the biggest and smelliest flowers in the world-and here it is.  We didn't quite catch it open, the Botanics staff think it could possibly open over night, maybe it is a solstice flower!  This meant it didn't have its reeking smell, which was maybe a good thing.
The plant itself comes from Indonesia and is called Amorphophallus titanum.  It grows very fast and is at present about 2.5m high.
