Spent most of the afternoon in Portsmouth Guildhall Square - the beautiful Guildhall was completely gutted during WWII - it has been returned to its formal beauty and for me it is the Centre of my home town of Portsmouth - a Younger Queen Victoria statue and Charles Dickens adorn the square which if it talk would tell many a tale - one such memory for me was the return of Sir Alec Rose on his return to England after his single handed journey around the world - there were many, many more
