Day 6 South African Diaries with wifi (many of the youngsters have gone out tonight).

This afternoon we walked around the perimeter fence of the Lodge and saw so many different, colourful, birds. This one was the most impressive. 

Friday here is a very different sort of day. We spent the morning at a farmer training area and worked in the fields for a couple of hours (see extra). It is amazing how much you can accomplish with a group of 12 people. Sadly not many of the 4 million people in the area, have a job, so this project, Farmers of the Future, is a tiny drop towards righting an 84% unemployment rate in the age group of 16 - 25! We felt the contrast keenly when we were taken to Hoedspruit shopping area where wealthy white people were the customers and black people served them.

Now we have the weekend off but are getting up at 4.45am to leave for Kruger itself .... no rest for the wicked!
