SPORT AT THE BEACH

A wonderful day. At 11 am our former neighbours from the village Kamerik where we had lived 28 years arrived at our apartment for a visit.
We had so much to catch up, sat at balcony, drank coffee and then had lunch. We walked to the beach choosing the path through the Meer en Bos park, along the promenade of Kijkduin and through the puinduinen back home. Thankful for this wam and heartfelt day.
Just when Piet Hein and I had eaten a sandwich Mischa phoned. Today the summer solstice and did we not want to come to their allotment garden, and celebrate for a while. Of course we felt tired, but so sweet of her asking us. We cycled, only a couple of minutes, and admired their tiny piece of land, ate watermelon and drank a mixed fruit juice.
Then we walked to their apartment. Piet Hein had not yet seen how they had blended their belongings together since Dolf had come to live with Mischa in her apartment. A meeting full of love and tenderness.
Now it is evening although the sun had not vanished into the sea.
