Langriggs
Cumbernauld Village has one of the few remaining examples of 'lang riggs' (long, thin strips of land) in Scotland. The Langriggs in the Village have been designated as a 'Fields in Trust' site, which should preserve and protect them from commercial development in the future.
One of the riggs has been made into a wildflower garden and it was looking rather green when I dropped by on my way to a social event in the church earlier this evening. I've also added another image of the Langriggs as an extra, just because.
