Fragrances

In preparation for the prodigal's visit, I cleaned his old room and arranged little cloth sachets of lily of the valley so he would find the air fresh and sweet. He has re-appropriated the place and substituted a very different fragrance.

(He is visiting from a country far away, where he apparently gets nostalgic for this quintessentially British dish).
