Up early and on the bus to the station. Train to Birmingham to meet S and visit the Jewellery quarter. Spent most of the time either in cafes or the Jewellery Museum. Fascinating place- small jewellery factory was closed in 1981 and the place was left as it was on the last day of business. Strange thing to do at the time but a good thing for local history as it was acquired by a foundation 12 years later and turn d into a museum. Blip is the dies used to make patterns or shapes. There are c. 8000 in total. Back on the train and bus and then straight out again to MK gallery to see Tolkien. I wasn’t impressed with the film but others were.
