Connecting Communities - Celebrating Diversity

Our 'scratch group' called Utd played at Kendal Unity Festival today in the grounds of Abbot Hall. After only three rehearsals we were ready to entertain the crowds in the sunshine, old favourites such as Wagon Wheel, Happy Together and San Francisco Bay Blues. My saxophone is behind the male vocalist, ready for me to join them for the all-important brass riffs in a few of the songs. The Festival 'celebrates the strengths and diversity of the people of Kendal by building community cohesion, celebrating diversity, fostering good relations and promoting understanding between and within its diverse communities.'
