I had a freebie to see one of light entertainment’s more unlikely pairings. Former Bake-Off deity Sue Perkins in conversation with prog rock legend Rick Wakeman.
As well as playing some stuff on the piano, Wakeman told many wondrous stories (geddit?) about his solo career, his time as a member of Yes, & his session work with the likes of Bowie, Cat Stevens &...erm...Clive Dunn.
It was a fun evening. And, although I only managed to accost her briefly, I’m happy to report that Perkins seems every bit as lovely in person as she does on screen.
