Twelve Bell

I had a lovely day out at Exeter Cathedral. I volunteered with a couple of Cullompton tower pals to help with the National 12 bell striking competition. http://www.12bell.org.uk/

We put in a few stewarding shifts, helping people try out various ringing activities, talking to them about bellringing, and just having lots of lovely chats. People who had chosen to visit the Cathedral that day had a lovely entertaining visit

It was such a lovely sunny day. We got to explore the Bishop’s garden, which is usually closed to the public and was so beautiful. We enjoyed a lovely barbecue and yummy coffee and cake and heard some wonderful ringing.

We were there from 8:30 to 6:30 and the day flew by. It was made even better by the fact that we wated with bated breath for the results and Exeter won! Everyone was expecting another Birmingham win so the Cathedral rang with cheers when the announcement came. Fabulous way to end the day
