Bloody Vikings

I headed over to Portsoy today (stopping off in Buckie along the way -check out the awesome sky that met me in Buckpool in the extras). The boat festival was on, to which I hadn't been for years and I took my tent since I am running the 10k race tomorrow. I got talking to one of the security guards on the bus on the way over who said that 15, 000 people had gone last year. I am not sure that can be right but it sure seemed busy. I got to pitch my tent right next to the beach and went to enjoy some of the live music. I then got a ringside seat for the boat burning. The extra shows the Vikings who were down for Shetland for the event but lots more people took part in the torch parade (you can buy one in advance).

What a brilliant day. Sea was like glass. I didn't get the best nights sleep in the world what with the Vikings and an annoying yappy dog called Basil but I hardly minded.
