Extreme people watching

Spent a few hours up the Aiguille du Midi today with a friend who is acclimatising before she climbs Mt Blanc next weekend. We walked laps around all the staircases and terraces, but also spent hours watching the climbers, hikers, parapenters, skiers and others enjoying the mountains on a beautiful day. We even saw an avalanche and watched the rescue helicopter that came in to check for victims (happily none although a very close call for some). This shot is of some people starting their ascent of Mont Blanc from the Midi, and others skiing back down. What a day to be up high.
