Quirky ...

There is a cleared patch beside the road, close to the River Massan, where over the years signs of a whimsical creativity have been appearing. First there was a little wooden chair, fairly roughly cut from a tree stump; then it had a small elf sitting on it (not wooden: a stuffed toy). Recently I've noticed this brightly-coloured woodpecker, and today had sufficient foresight to arrange a stop before we had rushed past it. And so I was able to see the squirrels on the top ...

Strangely tiring day, with the lateness of lunch and sitting in the garden - to say nothing of church and a spot of hoeing - all seeming to contribute. However, we got out in the late afternoon and enjoyed the restoration of equilibrium with exercise bashing up the hill. 

And now I'm so tired that I've twice typed mince and had to unzip the sentence and remove some nonsensical words ...
