Go Hannah!

It was an early start for me this morning as I wanted to try and catch the last hour and a half of the Women’s PGA Golf Championship in the USA. Young Australian golfer Hannah Green had been leading since the end of day one and I dared to dream that she would make it all the way and take out the title today. It ended up being an incredible nail biting ending with Hannah having to sink a sizeable putt to avoid a play off. The Aussies who had been cheering her on just erupted in joy (see extra) when her putt went in. It was fantastic to see such jubilation from her buddies. I chose this image because it shows her mentor, the great Karrie Webb embracing her after her win. Karrie has given sponsorships to many up and coming young golfers in Australian and it must have been a huge moment for her this morning to see Hannah take out the title.

Fittingly, the last Aussie to win a major in golf was Karrie Webb in 2006, so finally the drought has been broken. So proud of you Hannah. You made this old golfer very happy.
