Drydocked and Landlocked.....
Amongst my travels today, a very unusual sight flashed before my eyes!!!!
Up, on a manmade hill, was a very old caboose. It has seen far better days, was up on blocks, had broken doors, boards, faded paint, and not a rail to be seen, any where's...... It's like the Queen Mary sitting on a sand dune in the Arizona desert! If you look carefully, you can see it's about 6" above the field and road, and driveway.
Is it possible the rails had all been ripped up years before? Had to caboose broken away from the other cars, and just discarded? Had one of the Forest fairies just dropped it down?, or gotten tired? Did the caboose fall off a flatbed trailer, and it wasn't missed? Is it a hideout for locals who go there for a friendly card game?
What stories I bet this caboose could tell......
