The Slow Road Home... Day 3
Early 14th century Tithe Barn, Bradford-on-Avon
A slow start to the day, making the most of our lovely campsite in the Savernake Forest (though without yesterday’s blue skies), but eventually we had to leave and trundled our way west through Wiltshire, passing through the prehistoric landscape around Avebury, before arriving in Bradford-on-Avon.
After a spot of van maintenance in the car park (don’t worry, only the brakes!) we went for a stroll along the Kennet and Avon Canal, stopping off at the Tithe Barn, before arriving at the Canal Trust Café to try those Cream Teas that I spotted on a recent Bus Challenge. The scones were enormous! (If you want to see just how enormous, check out my extra, and to give you an idea of how big they were, the plate is a dinner plate!)
From Bradford-on-Avon, it wasn’t far to home (where we ran into the rain). The HY van is now sitting on my drive, ready for the off in a couple of weeks…
