Young Farmers Go Orienteering

This evening we were up on the moor around Malham Tarn, helping with an event staged by our orienteering Club for local young farmers.  We often stage events in the Dales and this is one way we can pay back the hospitality of the farming community.  We had a great turnout of enthusiastic youngsters aged between 10-24.  Several of us were out on the area checking that they didn't stray too far away from the event area and I challenged the youngsters who came past me to jump off the rock next to this control. 

Afterwards there was a prize giving for the ones with the most points in different age categories and then we all had a yummy home made stew supper, served from the back of a trailer.
