Allendale Market Square - Number 1

Today the Market Square in Allendale looks as it always does on a Saturday morning, it's basically a car park. It's transformation should start tomorrow with the building of a bonfire which will go where you can see the three cars parked in the middle. This will be the centre piece of the Tar Bar'l ceremony that takes place every New Years Eve.

Last year was our first experience of it. It is no exaggeration to call it spectacular.
I hope to blip each stage of the event over the next 2 or 3 days.
