Poppy field update
I didn’t risk the security guard again (and thank you for the hearts for my Blip).
Instead, I went to check out the other developing field closer to my home.
A few years ago, the new roundabout gave rise to traffic-stopping beauty in the Lichfield Opium crop. Cars caused chaos as this mass of red became popular with local photographers.
This year, that roundabout has a few poppies, but the best display is a couple of fields away, and developing nicely.
I parked safely at Pipe Hill Nature Reserve and crossed over to explore the flourishing field at leisure.
It is indeed developing nicely, but the poppies are rather providing an attractive border rather than a solid splash of colour.
Meanwhile, the search continues.
