Tiverton Canal
Such a fabulous day!
Tiverton Canal has one of only four horse drawn barges in the UK and today we went on a 2 and a half hour trip up and down the canal taking in the peace and quiet, watching the antics of the ducks and other wildfowl, listening to the birds etc. We were celebrating two birthdays of ladies from the aqua mobility group and it could not have been a better day for a meander! Ruby the horse pulling the barge is a 16 hand, gentle giant - bottom shot with her owner - and is one of three horses used to pull the barge. She works twice a day then has two days off.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Canal Tea Room after the Canal Trip - I can highly recommend this cafe. We all had wonderful meals and generous portions.
