Roving over
Well that was almost a fun day. Visited Hanbury Hall N.T. property with farmland and walks. Our planned walk was just over three miles so no water or refreshments taken as we would use the cafe facilities on our return. Unfortunately as often happens the walk was just over four miles, not a problem distance wise (we used to walk many more in younger days) but a big portion was through pea fields and the crop at this time of year is very tall and extremely dense. We had to tread carefully to avoid tripping. The extra shows a small area and the path is just discernable. The sun was glorious and soon dehydrated us. After nearly four hours we were so glad to guzzle bottles of water and orange.
Part of this walk went through a farmyard and we were so excited to see so much derelict machinery and vehicles, it was hard to make a choice.
Whilst walking the boring section I had horrible thoughts like what if today is harvesting and we could not be seen, and headlines in the paper "two old biddies found in pea fields" ...
Tedwin slipped on mud and couldn't get up (nothing to hold on to) but 8/10 for being graceful.
