Opium Poppy
One of the farms near my office occasionally grows a field of Opium Poppies - presumably for medical purposes. This year the they were the light purple type and in a field largely inaccessible to the general public. Never the less, tonight I headed down some single track roads to see if I could get near enough for some shots with the long lens.
Success! I found a small pull-off which allow me access to the edge of the field to take my shots.
The poppies were mainly going to seed, but I managed some of shots of flowerheads showing well in the late afternoon sun, with a backdrop of seedheads.
