Surprise........

When I returned from Utah, the Gerber was out front, where my neighbor could  water it while I was away in Utah.  Well....  the squirrels chewed off every flower that showed it's head.  On the ground were 7 buds, just discarded.  They were chewed off just because....  It certainly wasn't because the squirrels found them tasty, because they  just spit them out.
    The plant was moved to the back were the bonsai are.  The girls are out there several times a day, chasing any squirrels away or daring them to get just close enough......
     After some fertilizer, water, direct sun and time.....   the Gerber is putting forth lots of flowers.  There is a fifth flower just beginning to peak it's head up.
Surprise, squirrels!   The plant survived!!!!!!
