Swimming through the heat wave

Although the headline temperatures were slightly lower today at 38 degrees, the land seems to have heated up, so it felt like the hottest day of the canicule so far.  What do mad people do in the heat wave?  Haul a heavy washing machine up a flight and a half of stairs of course!  That, connecting up said machine and the dishwasher, plus decorating and a bit of electrical work heated us up nicely to boiling.  So frequent dips in the pool were required to cool down.
