Friday: Tired Bee
Perfect weather today, blue sky, sunshine and no wind. I spent most of the day outdoors, watering all the pots using washing up water - most of the seeds I sowed beginning of the week have germinated. Also sat in the shade reading, “Full Tilt: Dunkirk to Delhi by Bicycle” Dervla Murphy.
Mahonia has a couple of branches of late berries, Mr Blackbird is feasting on them! Lots of house martins flying around and a few swallows, no swifts. Other birds in garden during the day: goldfinch, great tit, blue tit, greenfinch and a little wren which was collecting dried moss.
Saw a couple of butterflies, high up in the trees, don’t know what they were.
Gathered a little bowl of raspberries and alpine strawberries for MrD to have with ice cream & meringues tonight.
The bee in today’s blip had been happily flying around all the purple flowers, then it landed on the stone in the bird bath and stayed there for about an hour, too hot ...
Collected Salsify seeds for the Seed Swap.
Wishing everyone a Happy and Relaxing Weekend x
