Looking for summer!

Not today in North Berwick.
Arctic terns spend most of their time in places where the days are long because they spend the summer in UK or much further north and then fly to the far south when it's winter in the north. Some fly from the Arctic to the Antarctic and back each year perhaps covering 44 000 miles. So they never experience winter.
