65
How the hell did that happen!!! Yep it's my 65th birthday today, and this is the one of the wonderful things I was greeted with this morning. Hubby had it made via The Grange Cake Company.
The colour blue is very loosely to represent my interest in Classic Dr Who, the bear because I'm an arctofile, the camera - obvious, the flowers as I love them and want to do more floral photography in close up.
It was a lovely day. So many presents and cards, I feel thoroughly spoiled.
We went to Mum's in Morecambe and went to The Morecambe Hotel for lunch. We have been before and it's always been good. Today they had music in the gardens. Music was OK but loud, don't know what the residents who overlook The Hotel think. I had booked this two weeks ago and we were supposed to have a table in the back room to avoid the bulk of the music, this didn't happen. However as the music didn't start until 1.00 and we were there at 12.20 we thought we'd only have to suffer enjoy it for a short time. WRONG - it took 45 minutes and we hadn't even had the starters. Hubby went and checked and apparently the order had got lost between the waitresses iPad and the Kitchen so wasn't even ordered. We decided it wasn't worth going anywhere else so we waited, and it then didn't take too long. G asked for the drinks to be kept separate as he wanted to pay for those. On paying they gave G the receipt for the drinks, BUT they also had added the drinks to the main menu.
All the issues were resolved, but we never even had a visit from the manager or someone senior to apologise and, we feel, tone rounds of drinks should have been complementary for all the curfuffle.
Never mind - it was still a lovely day. We went back home for dessert and guess what, we had a slice of the cake - it was delicious gooey chocolate cake. Such a shame to have had to dismantle it but I'm keep the toppings and a suitable container, especially the teddy and the camera.
Hope you've all had a lovely day. Planning to go to Arnside tomorrow to see Knottman2's Photography exhibition. Take care all.
I'm entering this for Silly Saturday as a 65 year old who likes photography and teddy bears could be classed as a bit silly!!!!!!
