Bearsted Carnival and Fayre

A really hot day for Bearsted's Carnival and Fayre. We were going to take Doreen but she decided not to go so I went on my own. Crowds of people, huge lines for ice cream and a brisk trade in all sorts of drinks. Here the local scouts are giving their all in a singing and dance routine.

This morning we'd walking into town earlier than usual partly to beat the heat and partly so as we could take Doreen to see the Fayre and Carnival. As we've friends coming around  this evening, it was no bad thing to be on top of things rather than last minute especially in this heat. Believe it or not, we're having bangers and mash and red onion gravy. Ideal for these temperatures I'd say. And I'm not getting the (charcoal) barbeque out for a dozen sausages!
