The old-fashioned way

Overcast, hot and humid all day, and some of the plants in the 'yard were beginning to wilt horribly. Never mind, a hour or two of heavy rain was forecast for tonight. 'Was' being the operative word! When we returned from Alnwick late this evening, it hadn't rained and the forecast had changed - no rain likely!

No water supply downstairs at present, can't use the hose pipe; nothing for it but to traipse up and down the stairs with my trusty old watering can. Numerous times. One way to get fit, I suppose...

Finished 10 minutes ago, at around 10.45pm. And guess what - it's now raining heavily. Sigh! C'est la vie...
