Afternoon tea at Stone Gappe
A last minute find to somewhere G has always wanted to visit was afternoon tea party at Stone Gappe in Lothersdale. Such a beautiful afternoon and the gardens and views are something to be thoroughly enjoyed and admired. The extra is Lothersdale from Stone Gappe.
Sandwiches, cakes, pancakes and strawberries and cream were on offer together with glasses of 'fizz' or soft drinks as an option - I, of course, had the fizz!!
Stone Gappe is where Charlotte Bronte, in 1839, spent nine weeks only as a Governess. She was unhappy because of the life style but loved the area. Her experience there transpired into the brutal beginning of the book Jane Eyre.
