Hibiscus as big as the span of my hand

Another scorching hot day today, so it was probably just as well that, after breakfast duty for our new guests this morning, I had to settle down inside and do some Aptis marking to try and reach my minimum hours for the month.  It was a bit of a shock to realise this was the last day to make up my hours because, despite having recited '30 days has September, April, June and November' in my head, I was convinced I still had tomorrow too!  Ho hum, I'll be a bit short this month unless more tests appear in the system before 1.00am tonight/tomorrow morning.

Our hibiscus tree is gifting us with big show-offy flowers at the moment, despite the heat.  Or maybe because of it?  This one here is easily as big as the span of my hand.
