Laon cathedral

A reminder that even after the partial loss of Notre Dame there are still wonderful cathedrals of the same era.

We arrived in this hilltop town to discover their annual Medieval Fete was on; there was nowhere to park and the roads were chaos. But once the hotel owner had helped us to get parked we enjoyed all the nonsense going on. The stage in front of the cathedral was ready for a weird fire and dance spectacle later that evening.
