All the Fun
Spent a pleasant morning/afternoon at the Kelvingrove, heading out of the City centre and away from the mad shopping crowds.
Doesn't matter what age you are or however many times you've been, it's always just one of the best places to wander and get lost in. Still prefer it to the National Museum of Scotland over in Edinburgh, even after that building's recent refit and relaunch.
We headed back over to George Square here to take in the post-Christmas displays and to grab a bite to eat. It was cold so we decided to upgrade the alfresco Gregg's steak bake and bottle of Irn Bru in the Square for something a bit fancier at the nearby Jamie Oliver Italian restaurant. Busy place, but decent grub and decent value too.
Totally stuffed, we moved on to an Irish bar and listened to a pretty average band play Bluegrass versions of Beyonce songs whilst I put everyone off their drink with the smell of Ardbeg malt whisky. It tastes much better than it smells, honest.
All in all, another grand couple of days out.
