Going South . . . Day 7
I cannot believe the spell of weather we have had. Once we drove out of the fog shrouding Taupo it was a stunning blue sky day. Just driving myself and not being responsible for others was good and I turned the stereo up and sang and thought my own thoughts without having to answer questions about New Zealand. It was an uneventful drive back to Masterton and the van was dropped off. I bought bottle of gin to say thank you to our hosts. There wasn't enough room at our friends so we stayed with their neighbours. A was also the other driver last week when we were driving the woman visitors around. Each evening her husband greeted me with a healthy gin. The visitors certainly packed a lot into their eight days in New Zealand.
