North Sea Sunrise

Briefly woke up to admire the sun rising over the sea. Got up early including the boys to have breakfast. We watched the ferry come in from the deck. Bus into Amsterdam. Somehow we ended up with lots of changes to go to South Germany which is a bad sign. Things went wrong as soon as we got into Germany. Construction work meant we had to take a replacement bus. The 15min train ride turned into waiting for 20min and a 60min ride in a packed bus. We talked to a helpful rail guy and we managed to get on the next train to Düsseldorf. On the station I noticed the intriguing sign for a museum platform. As the train pulled out from Oberhausen I spotted an old industrial train with trucks for molten steel. Bah, and we could have taken a later train. Train from Düsseldorf to Stuttgart was delayed due to another train by 30min. When it came it was well packed but there was plenty of space for luggage which was great. Eventually we got into Stuttgart at 8:45 just in time for the train for the final leg. Even though it was late we got well cooked in a carriage with out aircon. Even though the trains didn't quite work out as planned we arrived relaxed.
