In My Day

Another cold, wet day. Never mind. Yesterday, Arthur won two lines and a house in bingo while I won one line. Boys' night. This was one of the prizes he chose and he finished it this morning, with a little help from Valerie and I. I used to love doing these when I was a boy, although in my day they were just silver. I see more of myself in Arthur every day; I was never as gregarious and confident as Valerie. Still not, actually.

Now the children have gone to stay with Granddad until January 1st so, until Kazuko comes back from work, it's time to blast the neighbours with my late Christmas present from Mum which arrived yesterday - get ready for a Big Noise Transmission.
